Director Vasantha Balan’s recording of the lives of Tamils living in South Tamil Nadu of 18th century is from Sahithya Academy winning novelist Su Venkatesan’s Kaaval Kottam. The story was brought alive by brilliant performances from Pasupathy and Aadhi. Vasantha Balan’s eye for detailing was very well brought out in Aravaan.
