After a lukewarm debut in Album, director Vasantha Balan shot to astronomical heights with his Veyil which talked about a loser in life and the film was shown in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Subsequent Angadi Theru proved that Vasantha Balan’s success in Veyil was not a flash in the pan and the director went on to win lot of respect in the industry. His Aravaan chronicled the life of people of South Tamil Nadu in the 18^th century and the prolific director is working on his next – Kaaviya Thalaivan with Siddharth as lead and with A R Rahman’s music.
