Ameer managed to create a truly global product that was equally deep in local sensibilities. Topped off by astounding performances by the actors, Paruthiveeran was indeed aptly titled, as the film was indeed a mirror image of the main protagonist, played superbly by Karthi. A major part of the movie is enjoyed for its aimless sense of living in the moment before the graphic yet gripping climax never failing to get the better out of the viewer.
