A breezy love story, an apparent off-beat subject, unconventional approach and refreshing visuals- OK Kanmani has set a huge expectation amidst the urban crowd. With Mani Ratnam's story, screenplay and direction, AR Rahman's composition and PC Sreeram's camera work, one can find many reasons to go to the nearby theater on April 17th. This film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead roles and Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics of the songs.

About this contemporary film, Lyricist Vairamuthu said in a press meet, ''How will you handle a culture shock? In fifty years, we might even have to face the question; will we still believe the institution of marriage? This film enlightens you about all this and makes you question your belief. How the lead characters go about justifying this culture shock is what this film about.''
