The scene gives a throwback to the old days where pirated films existed in CD’s and DVD’s a thriving commodity in Chennai’s Burma Bazaar that can only be used by a privileged few. Notice that the actor’s still used in this non-existent film’s poster and cut-out is that of Superstar Rajinikanth from Sivaji. Coincidentally, Ayan’s director, KV Anand was the cinematographer of Sivaji.
