Even if the ‘out of the box’ and the offbeat have done well, the enjoyable commercial has a big say in the industry. Ayan was perhaps the best commercial entertainer to come out of Kollywood this year. Everything about it was likeable. The racy script, the cast with Suriya being in top form in all departments, the camera (you expect that under K.V.Anand’s direction) and Harris Jayaraj’s music. The action too deserves special mention, the hard work that went into it is evident; it set new benchmarks for fights and chases in Kollywood. We would surely like to see more of such entertainers.
