Cut to 2010 and we wonder if the trend still continues. Yes it does! Notably among recent movies, we have Raavanan, directed by Mani Ratnam. Touted to be a modern day adaptation of the epic Ramayana, Raavanan showed the shades of the characters in good light. The movie which ran for 127 minutes (2 hrs and 7 mins) got mixed reviews from the critics. It made its way to major International film festivals and Mani Ratnam also received a life time achievement award in Venice recently.
