This is without a doubt, Vikram’s biggest opening ever. The reasons are pretty much clear in this case. This was the most expensive film in Tamil at that time. It was helmed by Shankar and had all those mysterious stills where Vikram was seen wearing a hood and looking menacing. Everyone wanted to have a look at Anniyan and it ultimately turned out to be a superhit.
