Even today, he is sometimes referred to as the ‘Aasai nayagan’. In spite of cult movies like Billa and Vaali, the Ajith from Aasai still retains a special appeal. It is one of the first movies to have given his career a major push into the big league and established him as a saleable star in the industry.
