This was a fun and action movie for all Ajith fans directed by that man with the impeccable commercial touch of KSR. Ajith was looking for a hit and he found the best opportunity in a KSR movie. His second filmfare award in four years came once again in a double role of brothers. If in Vaali, one brother was close to being a psychopath, Villain had one of the brother’s as an individual who had impaired mental growth. Needless to say, it was that performance which caught the eye. Ajith does seem to have good fortune with multiple roles.
