The Dhoom cinematographer did a few Hindi movies before getting inside Kollywood. Dhoom brought him to light and since then he has seen no obstacles in his way. He has given us visually inspiring movies like Arinthum Ariyamalun, Pokiri, Oram Po and Billa. He has been nominated for the National Awards three times for his works in Banaras, Dhoom 2 and Pattiyal. His camerawork in showing Chennai of the 1940s in his most recent movie Madarasapattinam has been appreciated by everyone. He is currently working in Engeyum Kaadhal and Simbhu starrer Vaanam. His other movie with Pushkar-Gayatri, Va, is due for a Diwali release.
