A most unusual black and white western starring Johnny Depp from the modern master of offbeat American cinema: Jim Jarmusch. Jarmusch began the new wave of independent cinema with Stranger Than Paradise, also shot deliberately in black and white. Down by Law (also part of the Moser Baer canon) an offbeat comedy made him more popular. Dead Man is his masterwork, and has become a cult film. Depp plays an outlaw who travels deep into the extreme frontiers of America to confront the horror and comedy of the wild west.
