Rajini, with his mentor K. Balachandar,
tries an out and out comedy movie for the first time with
this remake of the Hindi classic Golmaal. But Thillu Mullu
can be termed much superior to its Hindi counterpart courtesy
to the amazing chemistry between Rajinikanth and Thengai
Sreenivasan, Visu’s rib-tickling dialogues, and Sowcar
Janaki’s exceptional cameo. This movie should be credited
for starting a cult following for the comic senses of Rajinikanth.
Takeaway:
It has to be the interview sequence where Thengai Sreenivasan
takes on Rajini. Considered to be one of the timeless and
best comic sequences in Tamil cinema.
