A family of creators, Mani Ratnam is a filmmaker of repute renowned for the strong visual grammar in his films, considered one of the best in the country. His late brother G. Venkateshwaran, known as GV among film circles was another popular producer who produced most of Mani Ratnam’s films under GV films banner, which is now being managed by GV’s wife. Mani married Suhasini, the niece of veteran actor Kamal Haasan, she is a cinematographer turned actor turned director. It would be more than appropriate to call them a family of creators.
