It came across as a huge shock when we learnt that actor Vivekh passed away yesterday after suffering a heart attack. He was cremated yesterday evening with full state honours. The family of the late actor met reporters. Vivekh's wife Arulselvi, daughters Amirtha Nandini, Tejaswini, and brother-in-law Selvakumar were present during the press conference.

Vivekh's wife Arulselvi, who later spoke to the reporters, thanked the central and the state governments for being on their side, giving them due respect, and also conferred her thanks to the police and the media “who were with us till the end” in her words. She also thanked the fans for participating in her husband’s final journey and paying tributes to him.

Vivekh has acted in over 200 films and was known for mixing progressive thoughts with comedy in his films. He was also a keen environmentalist who had planted lakhs of trees and was an ardent admirer of the late president Dr Abdul Kalam.
