Viswasam is Thala Ajith's latest film to release. It had Nayanthara, and Anikha in the lead roles apart from Ajith, while Thambi Ramaiah, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, Vivek, and others played crucial supporting roles. This family drama was directed by Siva, and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films.
This released alongside Rajinikanth's Petta, and the competition has been very healthy, with both the films doing extremely well at the box office.
While Viswasam lags Petta narrowly in Chennai City Box Office collections, for the first time since release, Viswasam has crossed Petta in the number of show counts at the 5th weekend.
This weekend saw Viswasam get 79 shows, while Petta had 54. Both these films are proof that, if star vehicle films have good content, they can perform well in the longer run. We hope both the films do well in the coming weeks.
