Shunned upon by the society for her color, her husband is the only person who was her staunch supporter. But due to the vile antics of the villainous Venba who is crazy on Bharathi, the latter suspects Kannamma of adultery and throws her out of the house.

Soundarya, Bharathi's mother, who was averse to Kannamma at the very beginning, grew to love her sincereity and good nature, and even when her son drove Kannamma out of the house. Now years later, we have the couple's twin daughters growing up - one with their father and the other with their mother. It so happens that Soundarya presents one of the kids to Bharathi as an orphaned kid and he brings her up like her own daughter.
