Meanwhile, Coronavirus deaths are recently seeing a rise and the recent death of filmmaker Gene Deitch has certainly cast a gloom over the film industry. The director has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 94.
Gene Deitch is a popular animator and filmmaker who is quite wellknown for his works such as the Tom & Jerry creations, Popeye and the like. The legend passed away at his lodgings in Prague on Thursday, April 16.
Deitch was nominated for an Academy Award for his film Sidney’s Family Tree. He also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for his film Munro in 1960, and was nominated twice again in the same category. He created popular characters like Sidney the Elephant, Gaston Le Crayon, Clint Clobber and Terr’ble Thompson.
