Known for helming period films on a larger canvas, the Lagaan director's forthcoming film, Panipat, belongs to the genre and tells the story of Battle of Panipat that happened in 1761.
Starring Arjun Kapoor as the protagonist Sadashiv Rao Bhau, the historical film features a star cast that includes Kriti Sanon, , Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl, Kunal Kapoor and others while Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist Ahmad Shah Abdali.
The film's trailer was recently released and promises to be a grand venture, packed with high octane battle sequences and locales portrayed on a larger scale.
On the technical front, Panipat is captured by C.K. Muraleedharan while Steven Bernard handles the editing department. The film is jointly produced by AGPPL and Vision World.
