Director Santha Kumar is back with his second Tamil film after a gap of eight years, post the release of the critically and commercially successful 2011 crime-thriller Mounaguru, that starred Arulnidhi and Iniya in lead roles. The teaser of his second directorial, Magamuni had been released on 17th May.
The film stars Arya and Indhuja Ravichandran in lead roles, while actors Mahima Nambiar, Balasingh and Kaali Venkat and others play crucial supporting roles. The teaser look dark and brooding with shades of crime and politics interwoven to it.
Also written by Santha Kumar, Magamuni is shot by Arun Padmanaban and the editing is done by National award-winning editor V.J Sabu Joseph. Magamuni features music by S.S Thaman, with whom the director had earlier collaborated in his debut film Mounaguru. The film is bankrolled by K.E Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green
