Actor Parthiban has written, directed, produced and starred as the lead in his latest venture Oththa Seruppu, which is dubbed as the film that only features the on-screen presence of the protagonist. The film is bankrolled by Parthiban under the banner Bioscope Film Framers.
Upon receiving critical praise, the film was also listed in the race for India's official entry to the Oscars, for which the Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy was eventually selected. The procedural follows the inerrogation of Masilamani, who is related to a string of murders.
The makers have recently released a deleted scene from the film, in which Masilamani questions the punishment meted out to the accused members of the Pollachi molestation racket and various other cases.
On the technical front, the film is shot by cinematographer Ramji while R. Sudharsan handles the editing department and Resul Pookutty handles the sound design. The film's background score is composed by C. Sathya.
