About 15 days ago, a few of them had arrived to the actress’ house with a marriage proposal. Later, the actress' family found something was not right and when they checked the CCTV, they found out that 2 others who had accompanied the “fraud gang” were standing outside her home taking pics and videos of her house and vehicle

By the time the actress and her family found this, the "fraud" group had started calling over phone and started to threaten and blackmail her. According to the actress, many people from the gang spoke to the actress’ family over phone and one among them “who was pretending to be his sister might be 10 years old.”

Following this, Shamna’s mother filed a complaint and later, the police were able to arrest 4 youths and still searching for the whole gang. The actress said, “The police have said that they (the gang) have not done only to me. And have been doing this for many years.”

“When I came to know they were caught, that day I really slept well. On one side, I am very happy as such people who would still be doing this, will be little scared now at least. For me, it was a completely different experience. For the past few days, I was going through rough days, as me along with my family were even scared to step out. To be frank, my front gate was closed for a week and we used to be scared whenever a calling bell rings,” Shamna recalls.

On the professional front, Poorna will be next seen playing the role of V.K. Sasikala in late CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha’s biopic 'Thalaivi' directed by Vijay which will feature Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalitha and Arvind Swamy as MGR.
