SP Muthuraman, popularly known as SPM is an acclaimed director of Kollywood, with more than 70 films in his kitty. His work with Rajinikanth always has received a special mention, and they have worked together for more than 25 films.

SP Muthuraman debuted as the assistant director for Kalathur Kannamma in 1960. However, his career began as an editor at AVM Productions. With this being said, it has been learnt that the veteran filmmaker has been hospitalized.

According to a statement from the hospital where he has been admitted, SP Muthuraman is suspected to have COVID symptoms. The statement reads thus: “Mr. SP Muthuraman, renowned Film Director in the Kollywood Industry has been admitted to Medway Hospitals with symptoms and Signs of COVID-19. He is suspected to have COVID Pneumonia. He is under the observation of the medical team at Medway Hospitals. He is stable at present.”
