THIRUTTU PAYALE DIRECTOR ACCUSED OF HARASSMENT - OFFICIAL STATEMENT HERE

Recently the Me Too campaign has become popular on Social media with various victims calling out their abusers. In accordance with this, popular VJ and Independent Filmmaker Leena Manimegalai had accused director Susi Ganeshan of harassing her, in a Facebook post. 

She posted about this issue on her Facebook page a year back, without mentioning the name, but today after the gaining popularity of this METoo movement she brought back the issue by pointing out it was director Susi Ganeshan who allegedly harassed her.

Leena's post - "சுசி கணேசனின் மறுப்பே அவரைக் காட்டிக் கொடுக்கிறது. என் சொந்த வாழ்க்கை என் மனதிற்குகந்த மிக மகிழ்ச்சியான வாழ்க்கை. அதன் வெற்றி தோல்வியை அவர் எப்படி தீர்மானிக்க முடியும். கவிஞராக என் இடமென்ன என்று என் படைப்புகளும் இலக்கிய வாசக உலகமும் சொல்லும். சினிமாவில், அவர் எடுத்த படங்களை விட மிக நல்ல படங்களையே எடுத்திருக்கிறேன். என் படங்களில் பொறுக்கிகள் ஹீரோக்கள் அல்ல. மனசாட்சியை விற்பவர்களிடம் வேறு என்ன எதிர்பார்க்க முடியும்.

சுசிகணேசனை சந்திக்கும்போதே நான் கவிஞர்,இயக்குனர். வாய்ப்பு கேட்கும் தேவையில் நான் இல்லை. அவரைப் பற்றிய பதிவு போட்ட பிறகு நிறைய பத்திரிகையாளர்களும் பெண்களும் அவரைக் குறித்த இன்னும் அதிபயங்கர தகவல்களை பகிர்ந்துக் கொண்டார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு தங்கள் அனுபவங்களைப் பகிரங்கப் படுத்தும் தைரியம் வாய்க்கட்டும்."

When Behindwoods got in touch with the director for his reply to this, he gave a detailed clarification, quashing all these allegations. He said: 

"All these are baseless allegations. I am going to file a civil and criminal defamation case in the court. I'll be facing this legally. I'm the first person from Tamil Nadu to file a case for defamation in Me Too campaign."
