"CORONA IS BETTER THAN MY KIDS DYING OF HUNGER..." - STATEMENT THAT BROKE THE FILM INDUSTRY'S HEART!

It is a known fact that some workers in the film industry are dependent on daily wages for the running of their family and with this recent shutdown, they have faced a major financial crisis. The 'Film Employees Federation of South India' which is headed by R.K Selvamani recently released a note on this sudden shutdown.

President R.K Selvamani mentioned in this statement that he spoke with a daily wage-earning technician who belongs to the federation and that the technician said that he is ready to work even if it means he will die. "Dying from Coronavirus is better than my kids dying of hunger," the technician had said to Selvamani.

With regard to technicians like him, president R.K Selvamani requested the wealthy members like actors, actresses, and directors to donate and contribute for the betterment of these technicians during this time of hardship. Now, we have come to know that actor Sivakumar, Suriya, and Karthi's family have donated about Rs 10 lakhs to the federation, as of now.
