It was a supporting role in the 1988 Hindi film New Delhi, which was the remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Directed by Joshiy, it revolved around what happens when a honest journalist gets imprisoned for exposing the wrongdoings of two corrupt politicians.
Featuring Jeetendra and Sumalatha Ambareesh, unfortunately the Hindi version couldn’t repeat the magic of the original.
Suresh Gopi was last seen on screens in Varane Avashyamund, which made a good impact at the box office. The movie also starred Shobana, Dulquer Salman and Kalyani Priyadharshan in the lead.
A motion poster for his 250th was also released today.
