Ko had featured Jiiva, Ajmal Ameer, Piaa Bajpai and Karthika (her Kollywood debut) in lead roles, while Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao appear in supporting roles. It was a known fact that earlier STR was supposed to play the lead role.

But due to unavoidable circumstances, STR had to drop this project and Jiiva had replaced him. Recently too, when STR mourned the death of KV Anand, he penned that though the duo were supposed to work together in Ko, it could not take place due to circumstances that STR had to avoid, but off late the late director had narrated a story and the duo were planning to do a film together.
