Although he didn't mention the reason for his decision, it is suspected that it is because of a contestant's recent elimination that drew a lot of flak - both for the judges and for the network. Sridhar Sena, who was one of the popular contestants, was eliminated last week and fans took to social media to express their disappointment on the same. The judges of the show faced backlash from fans regarding the same.

While Sridhar Sena received immense support after his elimination, Benny also received messages of love asking him not to quit the show and many said that they were the reason why they were watching the show. Days after his elimination from the singing reality show, he posted a video where he was seen singing the famous song 'Idhuvum Kadanthu Pogum' from the recently-released movie 'Netrikann' starring Nayanthara in the lead role. With the elimination of Sridhar, only seven contestants including Abhilash, Manasi, Muthusirpi, Iyenar, Anu Anand, Bharath and Adithya went forward with the upcoming episodes.
