FIRST TIME EVER FOR VIJAY!

Today (22nd June) being Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s birthday, we get to see the social forums buzzing with wishes for the Theri actor. It is almost like a festival day for Vijay fans who are celebrating the favourite star’s birthday in different forms.

If they want to celebrate by watching a popular Vijay film in theatres they have quite a few options. Vettri cinemas, one of the popular film hubs located in Chrompet, Chennai, has arranged two special shows of Pokkiri.

When we spoke to Rakesh, the managing director of Vettri theatres, he told us “We generally re-release films during festival days but this is the first time we are doing it for a star’s birthday. Our initial plan was to have only one show (evening) at the main screen but since the response was good and tickets got sold out, we added one more show (night).”

Similarly Vijay's films like Thalaivaa, Kaththi and Theri are also being screened in some of the theatres in Chennai.
