Actor Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in the M. Rajesh-directed 'Mr. Local'. The actor has three films in his pipeline, which comprises of R. Ravi Kumar's upcoming directorial, the Pandiraj-helmed SK-16, SK-17, which will be written and directed by Vignesh ShivN and 'Irumbu Thirai' director P.S Mithran's second film as a director, Hero.
A recent update about the film is that the team has moved to the second schedule of filming. This phase has started with the shooting of a song sequence. Popular actor and dancer Sathish Krishnan has come on board as the choreogrpher for a song sequence. The dynamic actor-choreographer duo will surely raise the expectations of fans and audiences

Hero is bankrolled by KJR Studios. Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of acclaimed director Priyadarshan, will be making her Tamil debut with this feature. The film's cinematography is by George C. Williams with music and background score composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
