Sivakarthikeyan in a recent event has disclosed that he hasn't given any junk food, like burger, pizza, etc, to his 4-year-old daughter.
 

Talking about taking up a sensitive and important social issue, in Velaikkaran, Sivakarthikeyan said, "I stopped drinking soft drinks and packed drinks, some 8 - 9 years back, and it was my personal decision. I thought that food isn't healthy for my body, and I stopped. And when I got to know I am going to speak against those commercially packaged drinks in Velaikkaran, I got excited.

Many of them felt that there could have been more comedy and one more song in the film, but to all of them, Velaikkaran wasn't a movie of that kind. The film intended to convey a strong social message, and about an issue, that we do not really know about.

There is also another decision I made through this film, not to act in advertisements. My daughter is 4.5 years old. She hasn't eaten a single piece of a burger, panini, or pizza or anything of that sort. She hasn't consumed any cold drinks. I haven't given her. That is why I decided not to act in advertisements. Just because people are ready to spend money on a product, how can I persuade a person to buy a drink, when I myself am not giving it to my daughter?

I feel, through Velaikkaran, Mohan Raja sir has conveyed an important message, keeping me as a medium, and it has indeed reached quite a lot of people. It is so heartwarming, and the film has earned a good name for our team among the public."
