Actor Simbu was last seen on screen in Sundar C’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven. He had already started his shoot on his much-awaited political thriller Manaadu with director Venkat Prabhu that has director Priyadarshan's daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead.
The actor also has Hansika Motwani’s 50th film that is titled as Maha and features Hansika, and Srikanth in the lead roles. Simbu plays a crucial cameo, and is also part of a song. Directed by U. R. Jameel, the film is produced by Mathi Azhagan under the production company Etcetera Entertainment. The film’s music will be scored by Ghibran.
It was earlier revealed that actors Simbu and Gautham Karthik were roped in for a mega budget action thriller. Produced under the Studio Green Production, the yet-to-be-titled film marks the first-time union of Simbu and Gautham.
This project is the official remake of the 2017 Kannada blockbuster, Mufti, which starred Shivrajkumar, Muralist, Shanvi Srivastav and Chaya Singh. The film is centered on a police officer, played by Srimurali, who goes head to head with an underworld boss, played by Shiva Rajkumar.
Debutant Narthan who had worked on the original version is directing the Tamil version too. Sources close to the development had revealed that the shoot has started today and Simbu who is essaying Shiva Rajkumar’s role has given a 25 days call-sheet.
