Acclaimed singer Sid Sriram made his debut as a singer with the song 'Adiyae' in the Mani Ratnem-directed Kadal, which was composed by the Mozart of Madras, A.R. Rahman. The vocalist has went on to croon some of the most scintillating numbers in the South Indian Film industry, particularly in Tamil cinema, with songs like 'Ennai Maatrum Kaadhale' from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and 'Kannana Kanne' from Viswasam to name a few.
The singer will be soon donning the composer's hat with an upcoming film 'Vaanam Kottatum', which will be written and produced by Mani Ratnam himself under the banner Madras Talkies. This project will be directed by his former assistant Dhanasekaran.
The film cast is headlined by actor Vikram Prabhu and Madonna Sebastian, who will be playing the leads while actors Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhikaa Sarathkumar and Sarath Kumar in crucial roles.
Earlier, it was announced that '96' fame composer Govind Vasantha will be composing music for the film, but he has opted out of the project due to various reasons. An official statement regarding this development will be announced soon.
