APPA'S HINDI PLANS

Appa directed and produced by the National Award Winner Samuthirakani features the talented artist himself in the lead role. The film reported to be a sequel of Samuthirakani’s earlier film Saattai is said to deal about the parental pressures on the youngsters and the education system these days. Ilayaraja has scored music for the film and Richard Nathan has handled the camera.

There was a buzz that the film is going to Hindi with Irrfan Khan doing the lead role. We contacted Samuthirakani to know more about this.

“Yes, we have a couple of options going on right now. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary, director of Amma Kanakku had said that she will produce the film in Hindi with Irrfan Khan as the lead. Now, two days ago, I met Anil Kapoor sir. He wanted to see the film and if he likes it, he wants to get on board. We are planning to travel with whoever sees the film and okays it. That’s the plan as of now. Further things will be decided based on the artist.

In Kannada, Sivarajkumar is confirmed for Appa. Talks are on in Telugu and there are chances that Venkatesh sir will do the film. I will be directing the film in whichever language the film goes.

I am also planning to take Nadodigal to Hindi and talks have been initiated. I will keep you updated.”
