Rohit Shetty is a Bollywood filmmaker known for his blockbuster action films. The director's last film was 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles. The film went on to gross more that 250 crores at the box office.
The director expressed his admiration for the southern superstars and their fan following in a recently held stage discussion conducted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The 'Simmba' director said that "(In south) the fan clubs are too strong for every actor. If the film is average also the film does good business for three days because the fans are going to watch a Rajinikanth's film or a Chiranjeevi's film or an Allu Arjun's film or Vijay's film"
The director also expressed his concern over the lack of theatres and piracy issues resulting in the decrease of footfalls in theatrical collections at the FICCI 2019 Conference.
