The grand show, which also featured Deepika Chikhalia as Goddess Sita, started its yet another telecast on Doordarshan. Its re-run comes at a time when the whole country is under the 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
The latest talk of the town is the picture of Arun Govil and his family watching Ramayan on Doordarshan. Though this picture surfaced two days back, today being Ram Navami has perked up the interest of fans to check up on what their favourite 'Ram' is doing in real life, and this picture is sure to make them happy.
Based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, the series had originally aired during 1987-88. Its success was so huge that both Arun Govil and Deepika, along with Sunil Lahri, who essayed Lakshman, were practically idolised.
Arun Govil started his career in Bollywood in 1977 with Tarachand Barjatya’s “Paheli”, which he followed up with hits like “Sawan Ko Aane Do” and “Saanch Ko Aanch Nahin”. The Vikram-Betal star has featured in many series post his Ramayan stint.
