Superstar Rajinikanth is currently working on AR Murugadoss' Darbar, that is the 167th film of his career. The film also has Nayanthara playing the female lead, while Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas and others will be seen in crucial supporting roles. The film is bankrolled by Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions.
The team is currently shooting at Mumbai, Amidst a busy schedule, Rajinikanth took some time off to meet Raghava Lawrence and actress Vedhika, who are fresh from the success of Kanchana 3. The film performed extremely well at the box office, and is the only Tamil film to hold onto a good number of screen inspite of the Avengers wave.
Kanchana 3 had Oviya and Nikki Tamboli playing the lead roles apart from Raghava Lawrence and Vedhika. It also had the regular Kovai Sarala, Sriman and Devadarshini playing important supporting roles roles. Raghava Lawrence wrote and directed the film, and produced it along with Sun Pictures.
