PUNEETH RAJKUMAR LIVES ON: KARNATAKA FOREST DEPARTMENT'S LATEST GESTURE FOR THE LATE 'POWER STAR' IS HEARTWARMING!!

Condolences poured in from fans and colleagues from the film fraternity, as well as sports personalities and politicians. Puneeth was laid to rest close to his father, the legendary actor Dr Rajkumar, and mother Parvathamma at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru.

Fans have been thronging his memorial in large numbers even days after his death. He believed in social causes and donated generously to charities and foundations. While he continued the initiatives started by his father, Puneeth also set up 45 Free Schools, 26 Orphanages, 19 Goshale and 16 Old Age Homes. He also was responsible for the education of 1800 students. The 'Power Star' also donated his eyes, which gave sight to four youths.

The Karnataka Forest Department has now named a two-year-old elephant calf at Sakrebailu elephant camp near Shivamogga after the actor. Photos of the elephant along with its mother is doing rounds on social media and is going viral. The gesture was a mark of remembrance of his visit to the camp days before his demise. Netizens showered their love on the gesture, with heart emojis and comments. One user wrote, 'good souls' never die and that they just 'change bodies.'
