On the professional front, his upcoming films include Mohanlal's Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, and Ninnila Ninnila - his Tollywood debut, with Nithya Menen and Ritu Varma in leading roles.
The Telugu film, Ninnila Ninnila is titled as Theeni in Tamil and the much-awaited trailer of the film was released on Friday which was well-received by the audiences. Presented by Bapineedu B, the movie is written and directed by Ani. I. V. Sasi.
The teaser narrates the story of Dev (Ashok Selvan), who is overweight and a marvellous chef, suffering from muscle spasms and insomnia. He happens to join a 5-star restaurant in London where he meets Tara (Ritu Varma) and Maya (Nithya Menen).
Now, taking to his social media, Ashok Selvan has revealed that he had to put on 103 kgs for the film and almost died reducing it. Sharing a pic of the same, he wrote, “Hey! Meet Dev! The film that is so close to my heart, made with lots of love and effort. Although little prosthetics been used, had put on 103 kgs for this film and almost died reducing it. This film is a very special film and needs all your love and support.”
