MeToo movement is gaining its importance slowly, but steadily, and we have seen many leading celebrities being allegedly accused of sexually harassing and abusing a woman. Noted celebrities like Chinmayi, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, VJ Sri Ranjani, Leena Manimekalai, director Usha and others were recently seen elaborating on this issue, through a press meet.
Reacting to all these allegations and the movement's motive, Nadigar Sangam has come out with an official statement that assures to arrange a new committee to safeguard the rights of women artists and protect them from any such sexual harassments.
Nadigar Sangam's statement reads, "To protect the women from sexual harassments and abuses from shooting spots and theatre stages, and in order to make the artists feel comfortable to serve for the field of art, Nadigar Sangam will take necessary actions. The association will concentrate on this issue and we will form a new committee to monitor such sexual harassment issues.
