VIJAY SETHUPATHI WITHDRAWS FROM 800 BIOPIC ON MUTHIAH MURALIDHARAN?
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsEver since it was announced, 800 the biopic on Muthiah Muralidharan has been mired in controversies. Several people don’t want Vijay Sethupathi to act in the movie since Muralidharan was known to be a supporter of former Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse whose regime has been under the scanner for the torture and killing of several Tamils.
Now, in a latest press release, Muralidharan has said that he has been left anguished over the pressure faced by Sethupathi and has requested the latter to withdraw from his biopic.
Though, the makers have clarified that the biopic will focus on Muralidharan’s cricketing achievements, there seems to be no takers for this affirmation. Sethupathi also tweeted in response to Muralidharan's statement

It is not known whether Sethupathi intends to withdraw from the biopic.
