It is being learnt that Queen Elizabeth II had called for a 2004 CBE honour given to disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein to be cancelled and annuled for sexually harassing women.
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence that was awarded to him in February 2020 after being found guilty of sexual assault and rape. His name began doing the rounds in the Me Too scandal in 2017 and 2018.
The official order read, "The Queen has directed that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein to be an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 29 January 2004, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.”
Fans in droves have welcomed this move and feel that it sets an example to what happens to those who don't treat women with respect.
