Popular Malayalam actor Manikandan Achari, who is known for his intense performance as 'Balan', in Dulquer Salmaan's Kammattipadam, will now be seen in Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Manikandan also received Kerala State Award for Best Supporting Actor for Kammattipadam.
Manikandan has joined the sets of the film in the current schedule that is happening at Lucknow. He took to his social media page to share this happy news to his followers. He also clicked a selfie picture with Vijay Sethupathi from the shooting spot.
He posted the picture and said, "In Lucknow with Vijay Sethupathi, as part of the film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. I also thanked him on behalf of all the Kerala people for the help he provided during the floods."
With this picture taken from the shooting spot, there is a wide speculation that this could most probably be the character look of Vijay Sethupathi, where he is seen sporting a stubble, and wearing an amulet round his neck.
Petta already has an exciting star cast in the form of Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Simran, Trisha, Bobby Simhaa, Sananth, Megha Akash, Munishkanth, and now with the inclusion of a strong performer like Manikandan, it is going to be even more interesting for the audience.
Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Petta has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Tirru, and editing by Vivek Harshan.
