KAAPPAAN: MADRAS HIGH COURT GIVES GREEN SIGNAL FOR RELEASE TOMORROW!

A few months ago, a case was filed for Plagiarism against director KV Anand by Filmmaker John Charles. The case hearing was held on September 12, and now the movie is cleared of all charges ahead of its release tomorrow.

John Charles had cited the similarities between the trailer of Kaappaan and story of his script Saravedi, which he had narrated to KV Anand in January 2017. John Charles mentioned that he did not hear from the director after the same.

In his petition, John Charles mentioned that he needed to be credited for his story and also that a copyright fee be paid. But the case was dismissed by the Madras High Court citing lack of evidence. With no obstacles hanging over, Kaappaan will be available at cinemas near you from tomorrow September 20th.
