Actor Vijay Sethupathi teamed up with director SP Jananathan for Laabam. Also starring Shruti Haasan, Sai Dhansika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak and others in major roles, Laabam is produced by 7C's Entertainment in association with Vijay Sethupathi Productions.

The makers of the film post the untimely demise of the director - SP Jananathan had issued a statement which read that the team was in the last leg of the post-production works when the unfortunate incident took place. The film’s shooting was then taken care of the remaining members.

The film has cinematography by Ramji and Vijay Sethupathi will also be sporting a bearded hippie look for the film in some scenes. D Imman scores music. The film features Shruti Haasan as the female lead.

A couple of days ago, Vijay Sethupathi shared the happy news that the film is all set to hit the big screens on September 9 this year. Ahead of the film’s grand release, the much-awaited trailer just got released. Check it out here -
