The young actor received the award from 'Asuran' director Vetri Maaran.
Upon receiving the award, Ken Karunas said "I feel proud to have received this medal from Vetri sir, as he is my biggest teacher. Everyone know Vetri sir as a great director, but there is a good actor in him.", adding that Ken mostly replicated Vetri Maaran's performance.
When asked about the physically challenging role, Ken jovially said that he has suffered a lot blows, especially during the climax "I managed to survive that scene because of Vetri sir. Had Peter Hein sir been there, the situation would've been different."
After receiving the award, Vetrimaaran appreciated Ken's commitment for the role "There are situations where the character must tread in forest areas. So I suggested Ken to practice walking in barefoot. On the same day, he got permission from his school and started walking without slippers. He is a very dedicated artist."
Ken concluded with an electrifying dance performance and rampwalk, which was accompanied by his mother and sing Grace.
