Jigarthanda is one of the milestone films, not just in Karthik Subbaraj's career, but also in Tamil Cinema. The cult film won a couple of National Awards, and was highly talked about by the audiences and critics alike.
It had Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon and Bobby Simha playing the leads, while Guru Somasundaram, Karunakaran, Nasser and others playing pivotal roles. Gavemic U Ary was the cinematographer and Santhosh Narayanan composed the music.
Sources close to us have revealed that the film is getting remade in Telugu, with Atharvaa playing the male lead, and dubsmash fame Mirnalini Ravi playing the female lead. Actor Varun Tej will be essaying the role of the iconic 'Assault Sethu' that was played by Bobby Simha in the original.
Our sources have also revealed that the film has been titled Valmiki, and will be helmed by Harish Shankar. It must be noted that Mirnalini Ravi will be seen in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe that is releasing tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates.
