KANNIL FROM KAPPELA: A ROMANTIC MELODY ON THE CARDS WITH ANNA BEN & ROSHAN MATHEW!

The song starts slowly with a simple combination of acoustical guitar and a whistle to provide the skeletal look of the song. By this time you already know that you are in for a melody. This is when a voice starts giving life to the song in the form of Sooraj Santhosh who has already been smashing one hit after another in Malayalam.
As if this wasn't enough the captivating Shweta Mohan sings the opening lines of the duet now. The guitar and the whistle accompany all along with the Ukulele joining the band as well. Sandeep Mohan shows his versatility with the acoustic guitar, Ukulele and mandolin as well which features in the song.
The first line of the stanza is an obvious continuation of the melody and this is when something happens to the song that you would come to expect from Sushin Shyam. This is one composer who has taken the bull by its horns over the last year or so with amazing blockbusters like "Kumbalangi Nights" with some of the best songs of 2019 like "Cherathukal" & "Uyiril Thodum".
He also showed his prowess in the background score for "Virus". The second part of the stanza has a very drastic shift in notes without hampering the melody of the song. It wont be an easy feat for a singer to perform this song for sure especially without instrumental aid. The way the song then connects back to the opening lines is through the vocalised version of the whistle where it all began.
The whistling is by Sushin Shyam himself. We eagerly await more melodies from this movie, scheduled for release this weekend that goes by the name "Kappela" starring two heartthrobs in Anne Ben and Roshan Mathew. Rithu Vyshakh performs the one-man quartet, and it is Aswin Lal on the Bass guitar. Vishnu Shobana has penned the lyrics.
