As the actress turned a year older today on March 23, she kickstarted her special day by launching the trailer of the much-awaited film, Thalaivi. Helmed by AL Vijay, Kangana will be seen essaying the role of late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Apart from her, the film also features Aravind Swamy in the lead role where he will be seen essaying the role of MGR. Thalaivi is all set to hit the big screens on April 23. The trailer of the same was out today and looks promising.

However, during the trailer launch event, the actress broke down in tears while praising the filmmaker, Vijay. The video of the same is doing heavy rounds where an emotional Kangana can be seen saying, “I want to say that he is one person who has made me feel good about my talent. Especially the kind of camaraderie they show with the male hero, they never show with an actress. But I learnt from him, how to treat actors and how to show creative partnership.”
