Legendary Director J Mahendran passed away at his residence today, and public homage is now happening until 5 PM. Stars like Rajinikanth, Ilayaraja, Bharathiraja have already paid their respect to the director.
Now Kamal Hassan visited the house of the bereaved and paid homage to his friend, director Mahendran. He said,”I knew him from the time of Thanga Pathakkam but then I was supposed to do Mullum Malarum with him. I remember making Balu Mahendra and Mahendran meet in my house, which is now Makkal Needhi Maiam office, and suggested them to make a movie and even worked as a production manager, towards the end, to bring out the great movie Mullum Malarum.”
“Needless to say that many youngsters came off to do films inspired by him, he is such an amazing person. Although he started out simple, he has achieved his best. I have only one feeling that Mahendran could have done more. Complete life, nice family, great works. Tamil Cinema will forever remember and uphold his legacy”, said Kamal emotionally.
The loss of Mahendran is a cause of deep sadness that has dawned upon the cinema industry and film lovers. Through his great creations and depictions, he will forever be an inspiration to Cinema. We pray for his soul to rest in peace and also we extend our grief for his friends and family.
